Introducing our new Senior Five and Associates
We’re excited to welcome our new Senior Five and Associate Prefects after a brilliant selection process this year.
This year’s journey began with the Senior Five Hustings in Bader Hall, where each candidate delivered a two‑minute speech outlining why they aspired to join the Senior Five and the qualities they would bring to the role.
Fifteen students put themselves forward and took part in a student vote, followed by interviews with the Headteacher, Sixth Form team and the current School Captain.
Mrs Forster, Headteacher shared:
All of the students interviewed last week were hugely impressive and very positive about the school and the opportunities it brings.
The handover was also a special moment for our outgoing School Captain, Niamh who said:
Thank you for the incredible opportunity I’ve had as School Captain. I’ve made so many memories and learnt so much. I couldn’t have done it without the support of staff and students, and I want to thank my amazing team of Senior and Associate Prefects - Jo, George, Amelie, Fin, James, Maya and Dani. I’m proud to hand over the captaincy to Martha and wish the whole team the best of luck as they begin a new era of student leadership!
Martha, our new School Captain said:
As the upcoming school captain, I am so excited to step into this new role, which I’m confident will be full of amazing opportunities and allow me to make the absolute most of my time left at King Edwards.
I am looking forward to being a part of Senior 5, with Lucy, Beth, Schona and Isaac, and our Associate Prefects too, Harry and Munty. I know that they will all make fantastic contributions to our school, and help me through the next year as captain.
I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude to Niamh and the current Senior team, who have worked tirelessly this past year in their roles, but have also been so incredibly supportive in teaching us all the wisdom they’ve learnt – I will do my utmost to emulate their successes. Here’s to a promising year ahead!
A huge well done to everyone involved — we’re proud of you all and can’t wait to see what the new team achieves.
