We are looking for a Site Supervisor to join our site team at King Edward VI School, Lichfield for students aged 11-18 years. The successful candidate will have a positive outlook, be reliable, have practical, hands-on skills, flexible in attitude and able to cope with the varied nature of the role. They will need to be able to use their initiative, be proactive to the needs of the school, have a good understanding of Health & Safety/COSSH Regulations and be able to take on small projects as required.

The post holder will undertake general maintenance work around the site and carry out some grounds work. The physical aspect of the role also involves putting up and taking down exam desks and moving furniture. Whilst previous experience and/or relevant skills are preferred, they are not essential.

The role involves occasional early morning/early evening work to cover site security and events such as Open Evenings that occur during the school year.

The post is full time, permanent, 37 hours per week, whole year. The daily working hours are negotiable between 8:00am - 5:30pm. At times this will need to be adjusted to provide coverage until 6:30pm for evening events.

We are looking to appoint a self-motivated, organised and committed Catering Supervisor with good communication skills to join our friendly, experienced team. You would work under the overall direction of the Catering Manager but would also need to be able to inspire and supervise a small team. Our ideal candidate is someone who is creative and able to use initiative. Your skills in working with colleagues and young people are as important as previous catering experience.

Working hours are 7:10am – 2:00pm term time, including a 20 minute unpaid break, although there is scope to work additional hours at school events.

  • You must be able to assist in the planning, operation and control, of the production and service of school meals.
  • Be able to assist with menu options and advise on healthy eating and nutrition.
  • Assist with the ordering of all food and other commodities required from designated suppliers.
  • Support in the operation of control stocks, stock records and ensure correct completion and submission of all appropriate returns and records to the deadline dates identified.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to the service, with particular regard to Health & Safety, Hygiene Regulations and control of food allergens.
  • Be responsible for delivering a good quality service that meets the required standards and the needs of the school.
  • Wash and clear utensils and kitchen equipment, including machinery and clean kitchen premises as required.
  • Support and assist in the preparation required for any special functions organised by the school.
  • IT and administrative skills would also be ideal.
  • Previous experience of working in a busy school kitchen is desirable.

We are seeking to appoint reliable, flexible Lunchtime Supervisors to work within a friendly, supportive and well established team. Duties to include supervising students during lunchtimes in the dining areas and surrounding school grounds both inside and out. Applicants should be able to relate well to children, young adults and staff, act responsibly and be able to keep calm and respond quickly to situations.
