Essay Writing Competition Winners 2025
On Monday 3rd November 2025 King Edward VI School celebrated the hard work and academic excellence of its Year 13 students who entered the 2025 Essay Writing Competition.
The quality of the essays submitted was superb, covering a range of diverse topics from A.I. and astrophysics to philosophical questions about existence. This demonstrates the strong academic culture of further education at King Edward VI School.
Many congratulations go to our winners:
- First Prize and £100 = Katie
- Runner-up prizes of £50 = Michael, Daniel, Danielle
- Highly Commended Award (£25 vouchers) = Marni, Millie, James, Ella
We were also proud to share the successes of our students with our sponsors who attended the event to present the prizes:

Their support and generosity remind us of the mutual commitment between our school and its local community and how together we can continue to create opportunities that inspire and empower our students to achieve their best. It also emphasises how our shared values of aspiration, belonging and collaboration make our school community stronger each year.
