Our Year 11 students had their last official day in school on Thursday 19 June, and the celebrations continued in the evening at Drayton Manor for their Prom. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the end of their GCSE's and their time with us at King Edward VI School.

Our Year 11 students began their secondary school journey in the middle of the global pandemic, which was a challenging time. They adapted, stayed positive and showed resilience which has shaped who they are today and we are incredibly proud of the journey that they have been on during the last 5 years.

Mr Tizard, the Achievement Leader for Year 11 said:

The way they have approached their GCSE’s has been commendable. Their commitment to revision, their calmness under pressure, and the respectful behaviour they have shown throughout the exam period has been outstanding.

The assembly last week was full of laughter, memories and a few tears as they looked back on their journey through school, and the prom was a perfect celebration of everything they have achieved and a send off they truly deserved.

When reflecting on the last year, Mr Tizard said:

They leave Year 11 not only with qualifications but with the character, skills, and determination to thrive in the future. We are extremely proud of them and it has been a privilege to be part of their journey.
