Year 10 Work Experience 2025

July got off to a busy start with 160 of our Year 10 students embarking on an exciting journey into the world of work. Thanks to the support of 144 generous employers, students gained invaluable experience across a wide variety of industries and organisations, including Balfour Beatty, Rolls-Royce, Birmingham City FC Foundation, Access Bookings Lichfield, Central COOP, Lichfield District Council, The National Memorial Arboretum, NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, and many more.
We were especially grateful to our wonderful local primary and special schools, who warmly welcomed students into their settings. We were also very appreciative of our families, who not only assisted in securing placements but even offered opportunities within their own workplaces. Your commitment and involvement makes all the difference.
Throughout the week, tutors checked in with employers to see how students were progressing, and Mr Shaw and Mrs Baker had the pleasure of visiting several local businesses and schools. It was lovely to see how confidently and positively our students adapted to their new environments, becoming valued members of their teams and embracing opportunities with enthusiasm.
Employer feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with students described as “skilled,” “impressive,” “full of initiative,” “naturally talented,” and “a joy to have around.” This speaks volumes about the hard work, maturity, and eagerness to learn that our Year 10s demonstrated throughout the week.
Well done Year 10!
