Celebrating the Success of Shrek Jr. – A Whole-School Triumph
This year’s production of Shrek Jr. has been a joyful celebration of creativity, teamwork, and school spirit. From the very beginning, it was a whole‑school effort—students, staff, and families all played a part in bringing this colourful story to life. The saying “many hands make light work” truly captured the heart of the process.
A Community Effort
The Drama Department extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the show from start to finish. Thanks to last year’s raffle, we were able to hire a professional set, giving the production an exciting visual boost. Our gratitude also goes to the PTA for their ongoing support, which helped turn this year’s vision into reality. And a special shout‑out to Saxon Hill, whose beautifully crafted props added so much charm to the stage.
A New Musical Collaboration
This year brought an exciting first: a collaboration with the Music Department. The addition of a live band transformed the performance, creating unforgettable moments for both cast and audience. Huge thanks to Mr Hardy for his dedication and expertise in making this happen. We are especially grateful to Mrs Forster for her constant encouragement. Her belief in the arts and strong leadership help creative ideas grow into something truly special.
Students Shining Bright
Members of Drama Club once again showed incredible enthusiasm, teamwork, and pride. Many students shared how much they loved being part of a community where their talents are celebrated. Teachers have already noticed increased confidence and improved attainment in lessons—a powerful reminder of how the arts help young people grow.
Students across all year groups said the show was great fun, with the live band being one of the standout highlights.
A Celebration of Our Values
To everyone who played a part in making Shrek Jr. such a memorable success—thank you. This production is a shining example of what we can achieve when we come together with creativity, passion, and our school values of Aspiration, Belonging and Collaboration.
