Examinations Officer – Grade 7

Permanent/Part-Time 32.5 Hours Per Week/Term Time Plus – Required for 19 March 2018

We are seeking to appoint an Examinations Officer to oversee all aspects of internal and external examinations management within the school. The post holder will have excellent administrative skills, computer literacy and be highly efficient and organised.  They will be articulate and able to deal sensitively with a variety of situations with staff, exam invigilators, students, parents and examination board representatives.   The ability to be clear and assertive whilst remaining calm, composed, tactful and flexible is essential.  The successful candidate will also link with our Finance Team, particularly regarding payments and transactions linked to examinations and invigilators.

It is expected that the post holder will be available to work during the summer holidays, particularly in mid to late August, in order to process examination results and support the post-results service.

Core hours are 32.5 per week, with flexibility depending on time of year as longer working hours are required during external examinations (May/June). Term Time, plus 10 days to be worked during exam results period in school holidays.

The salary scale is the Local Authority’s Grade 7 (£21,962 – £24,964 per annum, pay award pending).   This position is term time plus two weeks, details of which will be discussed at interview.  Starting salary pro rata would be in the range £17,419 – £19,800 per annum.

Teacher of Girls’ Physical Education

Permanent/Full Time/MPR-UPR – Required for September 2018

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Girls’ Physical Education Teacher to join a high-performing collaborative department. All Key Stage 3 and 4 students access at least two hours of PE each week in addition to high levels of participation in the wide range of extra-curricular sports.

PE is popular and successful from Key Stage 3 through to our thriving, successful Sixth Form. We are looking for a creative and adaptable teacher with a commitment to extra-curricular activities. The appointed teacher will teach girls’ core PE and will also have the opportunity over time to teach GCSE PE, A-level PE and/or BTEC Sport.  A specialism in netball would be particularly useful alongside an interest in hockey.  Excellent communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents are essential.

We are looking for a School Caretaker/Site Technician to join our well established site team at King Edward VI School Lichfield for students aged 11-18 years. The successful candidate will have a positive outlook, be reliable, flexible in attitude and able to cope with the varied nature of the role.   He/she will need to be able to use their initiative, be proactive to the needs of the school, have a good understanding of Health & Safety/COSSH Regulations and be able to take on small projects as required. The post holder will undertake general maintenance work around the site and carry out grounds work as and when required. In summary, the role is to provide a safe and secure school site for staff and students.

The role involves occasional weekend and evening work to cover lettings and other facilities that occur during the school year.

The post is full time, permanent, 37 hours per week, whole year. The working hours to be confirmed on appointment.

Salary £16,491 – £17,419 (starting £8.55 per hour) – Annual leave entitlement and other benefits.

Community Duty Officer/Caretaker – Grade 4 Job-Share

Temporary/Part-time/Required As Soon As Possible

A job-share opportunity has arisen for Community Duty Officer/Caretaker position for the Sports Centre building at the school.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and self-motivated individual who will be responsible for providing on-site support at the sports centre under the direction of Senior Staff at the school. This is a new position and is required to cover a 6-day working week between 2 people from approximately 4.30pm – 10pm covering all year round.

This is a temporary appointment in the first instance as the school is in a transition phase. The long-term staffing structure will be confirmed during 2018. The school hopes to carry on supporting the local community by continuing to have sports lettings on site.

You will provide supervision and security for the community use of the school. Duties to include: opening and locking of the buildings for community activities as directed, which are generally evenings and Saturdays; provide on-site security; help with the setting up and clearing away of equipment, ensure that correct procedures are adopted in the event of an emergency; general maintenance, undertaking any site cleaning and housekeeping duties of the building. There may also be occasions when you would be assisting with work around other school buildings

The salary scale is the Local Authority’s Grade 4, £16,491 – £17,419 per annum and would be pro rata to the number of hours worked. The details of which would be discussed at interview.
