IE8 and pdf Isues
It has been brought to our attention that a few website visitors are having issues opening/downloading some of our pdf documents. I have thoroughly tested numerous downloads and all appear to work in Firefox and Google Chrome browsers but when I try in IE8 in Windows 7 the opening or download often fails. One solution which appears to have worked for me is to open up Adobe Reader (my version is Adobe Reader X) and alter the option not to view in browser window - follow the simple steps below:
-
Open Adobe Reader
-
Open the Edit menu and select Preferences.
-
On the left hand side of the preferences window, select the Internet category.
-
Make sure to uncheck the "Display PDF in browser" option.
A quick search on Google leads one to believe this is a common issue.

Options Information 2012The following KS4 and KS5 Options 2012 information is available for download: Last Updated (Wednesday, 25 January 2012 17:20) Free Books for our LRCFree books for the Library Resource Centre! You may be aware that you can buy books through the Library Resource Centre using the Cover 2 Cover magazines issued to students each half term. By doing this the school gains credits to order free books for the LRC. Scholastic Publishers (who run Cover 2 Cover) are now running a scheme whereby parents can order directly with them and the school still benefits in the form of vouchers. Should you wish to buy books via the website and donate the commission to the LRC, simply go to http://shop.scholastic.co.uk/?parent_mode=t and register to start shopping. You will then be given the option to donate commission to the school – simply find King Edward Vi School, Lichfield and a voucher will be sent to Mrs Emery in the LRC.
