As the school year draws to a close, so gradually do our celebrations to mark our School’s 50th anniversary as a comprehensive.
The Maths Competition over the Easter holidays was even more popular than the one last year and a quarter of the entries gained full marks – well done to everyone who entered! The mystery prize this time was for answering the quiz in a multiple of 50 seconds. Thanks to Mr Hayward for organising the competition.
The first window of submission of entries for the Photography Competition is nearly upon us and we look forward to seeing how pupils have captured school life and our beautiful site. More entries can be submitted in the Autumn when we shall judge the contenders – the winners will be published in our 2023 calendar.
No excuses for not knowing the number ‘50’ and the phrase ‘Happy Birthday’ in various languages … thanks to the Y7 efforts these are now on display in the main corridor at Bader.
Members of the School Council have been collating ideas for what to put in the Time Capsule which will be put to bed at the end of this term. The Design Technology Department are busy making the capsule itself. It is exciting to wonder what our School will be like in 50 years’ time when it is opened!
Back in the Autumn term, tutor groups were asked to identify some obscure photos of locations around our lovely site. One in particular was a real sticking point so if you are still wondering… the nuts & bolts photo was taken in our smart new block which now houses the History department.
