Gifted and Talented Update |
|
Several events and activities have been happening at King Edwards for our more able, gifted and talented pupils in the last half term and we have some exciting plans for this term too. iClub has continued to be a real success; last half term’s activities included Big Brain academy on our newly acquired Wii, a spelling bee, a philosophy session, an engineering challenge and quizzes on the natural world as well as one with a festive theme just before Christmas. A big thank you goes to Miss Holloway, Miss Emery and Mr Wallis for their help with these. We have more exciting new challenges planned for this half term so please continue to encourage attendance. I would also like to thank the parents who expressed their support for the club at year 8 parents’ evening too. It is always great to hear positive feedback.
I would also like to inform you of other events around school for more able, Gifted and Talented. In November, there was a trip for year 10 science students, who got to hear the great Professor Robert Winston lecture at Birmingham Symphony Hall. This term, we have a drama workshop (awaiting re-schedule) and English trip planned to the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford.
