King Edward VI School Lichfield 16- 19 Tuition Fund Statement 2020-21
The 16 to 19 tuition fund is a £96 million one-off fund for the 2020 to 2021 academic year only. It is ring fenced funding for schools, colleges and all other 16 to 19 providers to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from coronavirus (COVID-19) and to try to support small group tuition for 16 to 19 students in English, maths, and other courses where learning has been disrupted. King Edward VI Lichfield is eligible to receive £463 from this fund for small group tuition.
At King Edward VI Lichfield we intend to prioritise support for students who have not achieved a grade 4 in English and/or maths. Following this support, any outstanding funding will be allocated to support students with grade 4 in English and maths who would benefit from additional support to close any achievement gaps.
We will run a series of additional sessions prior to GCSE English and Maths resit examinations delivered by teachers with the relevant skills and experience. We will purchase targeted resources to support these students learning.
Any further funds outstanding will be used to mentor students identified as requiring additional support due to the disruption of their learning because of COVID -19.
